Keeping your plumbing protected, one repair at a time!

Pipe repair and whole-house repiping in Gallatin, TN

Pinhole leaks, bad fittings, old copper, pipes that were never supported right: we repair them, and when a house has had enough patches, we repipe it. Michael, the licensed plumber who owns the company, does the work himself, in homes and in businesses.

Leaking and broken pipe repair

Most pipe repairs mean cutting out the damaged section and putting in new pipe and proper fittings. On our jobs that is usually PEX, which we use to replace leaking copper and old lines. In Ashland City in August 2026 we repaired a leaking copper water line by replacing the damaged section with PEX.

We have repaired pinhole leaks on the cold line to a shower valve, two water lines to a washing machine box behind a wall, and a leaking line where an old push fitting had been used in a remodel. Where we have to open a wall or ceiling to reach the pipe, we cut an access opening and tell you what we found.

Pipes done wrong the first time

A lot of what we fix is earlier work that was never done right. We have found a main sewer line in a crawl space that was never glued or supported, a drain line patched with duct tape, a bathtub drain with the wrong pitch, and a tub waste and overflow so rotted that it leaked into the crawl space below. We have even pulled a toilet that another plumber had reset with the wax ring installed upside down, and sealed it properly.

No shortcuts, no temporary fixes. We repair it the right way, the first time.

Whole-house repiping

When a house keeps springing leaks, or the old piping is failing everywhere, patching it one leak at a time stops making sense. We repipe homes: one bathroom, a half bath, or a whole two-bathroom house. A repipe is a good time to add shut-off valves at the fixtures and a pressure reducing valve, so the new pipe stays protected.

Michael will look at your pipes, tell you honestly whether a repair or a repipe makes sense, and explain what the job involves before any work starts.

Banging pipes and water pressure

High water pressure is hard on pipes. It causes leaks, damages fixtures, keeps toilets running and wears out water heaters early. A failing pressure reducing valve (PRV) can cause water pressure that is too high or too low, dripping faucets, and banging pipes, also called water hammer.

In Portland in March 2026 a home had 100 PSI at the tap. We installed a new PRV and brought it down to 80 PSI, and the leaks stopped. In Gallatin in August 2026 we replaced a 3/4-inch PRV for a homeowner with pressure problems. If your pipes bang or your pressure doesn't seem right, ask us to check it.

Shut-off valves

A shut-off valve that leaks or won't turn is a problem waiting for an emergency. We replace them: three leaking shut-offs and a rocking toilet in Cottontown, a main shut-off and a new hose bib on another call, and a new 3/4-inch whole-house shut-off plus a shut-off for the water heater in Gallatin. Good shut-offs mean the next leak can be stopped at the valve, not at the street.

Homes and businesses

Most of our work is in homes, and we take commercial jobs too. In Lebanon in December 2025 we repaired a broken 4-inch pipe at a rail facility, using our mini excavator to reach it. In Gallatin we rebuilt the plumbing under a new three-compartment sink in a commercial kitchen.

Honest answers & reliable service

Common questions

Do you offer whole-house repiping?

Yes. We repipe single bathrooms, half baths and whole houses, and add shut-off valves and a pressure reducing valve where they are needed.

What causes pipes to make banging noises?

Often a failing pressure reducing valve, which lets the water pressure run too high. That is called water hammer. Replacing the PRV usually fixes it and protects the rest of your plumbing.

Can you help with low water pressure?

Yes. Low pressure can come from a failing pressure reducing valve, a leak in a water line, or a clogged filter. Michael finds the cause.

Can you find a leak behind a wall?

Yes. We open the wall where the leak is, repair the pipe or fitting, and show you what we found.

Do you work on commercial buildings?

Yes. Most of our work is residential, and we take commercial jobs too, from a leaking P-trap in a commercial building to a broken 4-inch pipe at a rail facility.

Are you licensed?

Yes. Michael Todd Shaver Jr. is a Tennessee Limited Licensed Plumber, license #4095, and he does the work himself.

Can you replace a shut-off valve that leaks or won't turn?

Yes. We replace fixture shut-offs, main shut-off valves and whole-house shut-offs.

We noticed an unexpected increase in our water bill and suspected we had a leak somewhere. I called Michael Jr. Plumbing, and they were able to come out in less than 24 hours. Michael quickly determined that the leak was inside the house, found the source, and had it repaired in no time. I really appreciated the prompt, professional, and friendly service. It's a relief to have the problem fixed so quickly, and I'll definitely be calling Michael Jr. Plumbing again for any future plumbing needs. Highly recommend!

What our customers say

4.9 stars from 160+ Google reviews.

The were here in the time frame allotted, very reasonably priced off what I was expecting, fast, friendly and seemed genuinely interested in doing a good repair vs a 'cheap' repair that would just need to be addressed again later. Will definitely use them again for plumbing needs and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others in need. 10 of 10, without reservation.

I've used him on 2 plumbing issues in my home and was satisfied with the work he did. On 1 he had to wade through water in my crawlspace and didn't hesitate or complain. Very professional, thorough, and fairly priced.
